WSMC Field Document And Notification Placard
The WSMC Field Document and Notification Placard are required to be aboard WSMC covered vessels.
Please download and print in color for placement aboard the WSMC covered vessel.
WA state regulations require the WSMC Field Document be on board and readily accessible to the crew, otherwise you may be subject to a penalty. Therefore, WSMC recommends the WSMC Field Document be placed inside the front cover of your vessel’s USCG Federal VRP for easy access by the vessel’s crew.
The Notification Placard should be posted prominently in the ship's radio room, communications center, or other appropriate location for ease of use, to ensure WSMC is notified promptly of a spill or threat of spill and can initiate a response. Upon notification to WSMC, the WSMC watchstander is then be able to make the required notifications to state and federal agencies on behalf of the vessel, if requested.
NOTE: Washington Department of Ecology field inspectors may board your vessel and check for the WSMC Field Document and may hold a notification drill at any time while your vessel is in Washington State waters.
